You have reached the personal webpage of Simone Beaubien,
New England performance poet, coach, slam host, and producer.
Additionally: EMT-P, technical writer, copy editor. Historically: rock climber, ultimate Frisbee player, pinball aficionado. Arguably: above-average home cook, intrepid road-trip buddy, herder of cats (poets). I've also been told I have a nice ass. If that's insufficient information, you may read my bio.
I perform poetry, coach performance, and host poetry-related events.
I competed at the National Poetry Slams in Seattle, St. Louis, Albuquerque, Austin, Madison, and St. Paul; I coached my 2008 National Poetry Slam team to a fourth-place Finals finish, Boston's highest rank since 1995; I was the sole emcee for the finals of the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam in Vancouver; and I will serve as the artistic director for the 2011 National Poetry Slam in Boston/Cambridge. I operate as SlamMaster, host, bookings agent, and more for the weekly Boston Poetry Slam at the Cantab Lounge.
You may book me to perform, coach, host, or produce.
I've been featured from Bellingham, Washington to Delray Beach, Florida, and I've hosted and produced poetry shows all over New England, including the Boston Poetry Slam World Qualifier at the Middle East Rock Club in Cambridge and the annual First Night Celebration Poetry Slams in Boston. For a more complete sampling, see my performance resume.
You can see me every Wednesday at the Boston Poetry Slam.
I list other shows on my MySpace Page.
Interested parties are invited to email me with booking inquiries.
